Starting in 1930, Charlotte Clark's now-treasured Mickey Mouse dolls provided the exemplar model of product quality and character likeness that satisfied Walt and Roy Disney's high expectations of Disney merchandise. But there were limited to the quantity that could be hand-sewn by Charlotte and her small team of doll makers.
